The "Beanit" business was founded in 2012 and has over the years undergone a number of change of ownership, but since May 2017 has been run by the company Beanit Trading based in Habo, northwest of Jönköping.

The interest in so-called "specialty coffee" is growing ever stronger and in e.g. The US makes specialty coffee about 25% of the total market. One trend around coffee is that this beverage and its circumstances follow the development of other specialty foods such as spirits and wines. There is a general increased interest in quality, combinations, healthy and fair circumstances and conditions around the production chain and, of course, also wealth of taste and experiences. From being a commodity that was considered solely around its price per pack, coffee has become the subject of a much more multifaceted and developed interest where the roaster and barista have come to be regarded as recognized craftsmen and in some cases even artists.

Italy and Italian coffee are often associated with "espresso" and in fact, large parts of the entire coffee area's nomenclature, language usage and production tradition originate in Italy. Specialty coffee producers and micro-roasters are growing in many parts of the world, even in Sweden and exciting as it is, this tradition is old in Italy. Most of Beanit's suppliers were founded from the beginning of the last century until the 1950s. It is in Italy that the quality, the references and the breadth are there and that Beanit takes hold.

Beanit sees a mission in providing our customers with the opportunity to be able to prepare their coffee in one of the different ways that the substantially more developed Romanesque tradition offers, but also to have access to coffee and accessory products originating from and used primarily in Italy. The company also aims to be the best supplier our customers can have with an honest and open business, a constant desire to live up to our commitments and with a customer service that always tries to make all parties happy.
