The Sidamo beans, grown in the southern part of Ethiopia, are full-bodied and complex with their rich mouthfeel and bright finish. Well balanced exhibiting lively winey characteristics this coffee has notes of berries and almonds. Ethiopia is the original home of coffee. Coffee has grown wild in this country for centuries. The climate and soil are excellent, and literally nothing needs to be done for a fine coffee bean to develop here. The berry dries naturally, leaving complex nutty and lively flavours behind. A famous ritual in Ethiopia is the coffee ceremony. Entire families participate in it. Coffee is fresh roasted in a pan, hand ground and prepared with sugar without milk. Then everybody talks, hopefully not at the same time.
